Pictured here is a segment of the Virginia Creeper Trail, a 34.3-mile rail-trail stretching from Abingdon, Virginia, to Whitetop, Virginia. According to locals, it has been described as the best mountain bike trail in the east. This trail is open to bikers, hikers, and horseback riders year-round. Appalachia is known for its abundance of opportunities to get outside and actively enjoy its beauty; the Virginia Creeper Trail is just one relatively popular example of this. #appalachianechoes

This image captures the desire to help keep a clean environment that many residents with in Appalachia have. Also, there is this stereotype in Appalachia that if you are not a hillbilly then you must be a hippie with this tree hugger mentality. Within the image there are multiple peace signs further emphasizing the tropes associated with hippie culture. Overall the photo demonstrates that there is still a hippie mentality of peace, love, and conservation present in the Appalachian Mountains. #appalachianechoes

Room was clean with very comfortable bed and pillows. Smaller room but very nice. Dinner and bourbon bar was very good with nice selection. Comes with free breakfast which is home made eggs bacon and biscuits and gravy and a few sides. Way better than the same usual hotel breakfast. Staff was amazing ...
