Log Cabin next to the Mississippi River

"I just loved the nostalgic somewhat western way it was decorated. I've stayed in many condos since 2002. None even came close to being to having all the utensils etc as this one. On top of that there were other things you would never expect like sandwich bags sugar ice in the ice trays and on and on. Very unique setting outside- you'd have to see it to know its like noother."

"Breakfast had waffles, eggs, sausage, etc. No issues with the bed, as we have "temperamental" backs. Room very clean. It was very nice to see a TV listing guide in the room."

"I booked this in a spur of the moment decision knowing I needed a week away from work, the city life ( I was born a country gal) and some "me" time... it was more than I expected. I'm glad I picked it! The description was very honest, it is not a Ritz-Carlton by any means, which they do state that, (So I packed according to their description) but can (and probably has) accommodate quite a large group! The pool was huge, I spent most of my week in it, and on the deck reading, in privacy & the quietness of nature. I couldn't have asked for a better remote place in the country, but yet minutes away from Lansing if I needed anything. (I went there once) I felt a little guilty for staying in the 6 bedroom home by myself, so I ended up having my daughter from WI. Come down a couple nights, and ended up going back to Decorah and getting my brother to stay a couple nights. (He'd only planned on staying one, until he saw it) They all loved it. I will definitely recommend it, and hope to return... I bet it's even more beautiful in the fall surrounded by color "
