"This is a classic historic Inn extremely well-maintained with super friendly staff. You’ll love sitting on the veranda, having cocktails or dinner. The food’s quite good. The bar is delightful. I love the hardwood floors throughout even in the adjacent buildings which were part of the initial compound of the original owner back in the 1800s. Everything in Apalachicola is walkable and it’s a cute little town, especially if you like seafood."

"I wish I could post pictures! This place was cold and dirty! I called the front desk begging them to cut off the air conditioner. I told them I had a bad back and more to the point my teeth were chattering because of being cold! NOTHING! THE PLACE IS IN NEED OF A GOOD CLEANING. BOTH OF US HAVE ISSUES WITH DUST, ALLERGIES! Between the extreme cold and dust, we missed one day of being able to go out. That was bad! On the home page... THE HOME PAGE WAS A BEAUTIFUL GAZEBO! WE PICKED THIS HOTEL BECAUSE OF THAT GAZEBO! WE DECIDED TO REDO OUR VOWS, DRESSED IN MY GOWN AND MY BELOVED'S TUX, IN FLORIDA HEAT! WE STAYED AN EXTRA DAY JUST TO DO THAT. NOT TO MENTION NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE BECAUSE OF THE COLDNESS IN THE ROOM! HOWEVER...WE DROVE AROUND LOOKING FOR THAT HUGE GAZEBO! AFTER 20 MINUTES WE FINALLY CALLED THE OFFICE! WE WERE TOLD THIS GAZEBO WAS TORN DOWN YEARS AGO! YEARS AGO! WHY WAS IT STILL ON THEIR HOME PAGE? COOMBS RESPONSE TO ALL OF THIS...LESS THAN ANYONE SHOULD EXPECT. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL! OHHHHHHH,,,,,,,,,, THE WALLS ARE THIN! WE HEARD THE FAMILY NEXT TO US DOING EVERYTHING! WE DO HAVE PUCTURES AND WILL POST THEM EVERY PLACE WE CAN! THEY APOLOGIZED ABOUT THE GAZEBO PICTURE STILL BEING ON THE HOME PAGE! ONE WEEK LATER... IT'S STILL THERE! HMMMMMMMM"

"We just spent a wonderful week at the Halcyon house and had the best time celebrating our 25th anniversary. The booking experience and check-in process were very easy. The local house manager, Jenny, is a delight to work with. The property is one of the best appointed rentals I’ve ever stayed in. The decor and furnishings are abundant and classy, but not stuffy. We felt very comfortable there. We cooked a few times and found the appliances to be very high end. Additionally, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need and more from small appliances, dishes, bowls and utensils. The deck, pool, hot tub and dock were a highlight and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying our ‘private’ view, from morning coffee to stunning sunsets. The location was perfect since it’s located between SGI and Apalachicola. It was quick and easy to get to both destinations. We are already talking about when we might make our next visit to your wonderful home. Thank you for sharing it with us!"
