We booked our first night on Expedia and extended our stay by talking to the desk clerk, I don't recommend doing this at any hotel stay; we almost lost our room for the night as they were fully booked, and there was a miscommunication due to the different ways of booking. 「Thank you for hosting my family and I! We all had such a great time on the property! Plenty of amenities and very close to convince stores and downtown. The Cabin we stayed in was well equipped with what we needed. Plenty of sleeping room, comfortable beds, pillows and sleeping sofa. Everything was clean and we had more than enough clean towels! Overall I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for more of a “camping” environment. Overall we will be staying here again!」
「Our room was clean and very comfortable. We were greeted by the onsite owner and she checked in with us during our 2 day stay to see if there was anything we needed. This hotel does not offer breakfast however provides ground coffee and tea in the room with access to a community room for guests. Parking is adequate but a little tight. One spot for every room. Would definitely stay at this quaint quiet motel again when in the area.」
「The location of the hotel is its biggest selling point. We were just steps from the Animas River and the adjacent bike and walking path. Main Street is just a five minute walk away. The lobby and dining room have a kind of grand charm. I don’t know when the hotel was built, but it has a historic feel to it. 「The location is excellent, just 2 blocks from the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway. And it is at the south end of the historic downtown. Parking is tight, but we always managed to find a place. We did not try their breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. It rained a lot (Hurricane Polo) just prior to and during our stay. That may be the reason our ground level room smelled musty. It could have used a refresh too.」
