「This charming cottage with a front porch looking across a bubbling brook to a small pond with mountains in the distance was such a better option than a chain hotel room with common hallways. It is a bit out of town but you can go into historic Durango for activities and then return here for a peaceful sleep, a pastoral setting and a delightful breakfast with other guests. More room for kids to move around in or go check out the chickens at Chick Inn. 」

「I love the renovated older motel. It reminded me of stays with my family when I was just a kid. They have certainly brought that feeling into the present.」

「Not sure how many of the rooms are remodeled but the one we got was and was very nice. They have a good morning breakfast and while they don't have a fitness center onsite, they provide free access to the well-equipped Durango Rec Center just a mile down the street - if you're looking for weights or some post-hiking light exercises. Hadn't stayed there before but would definitely recommend.」
