Loved staying at Abbey Strand! Very historic building but with all modern conveniences. Quiet part of Royal Mile away from noise & traffic but easy walk to anywhere. No air conditioning but temps are generally cooler. Definitely recommend a stay when in Edinburgh.

Lovely apartment in a great location. Right next to the Palace. Located at the opposite end of the royal mile to Edinburgh castle, and not far from all tourist sites and restaurants. It's all uphill from the apartment, but a lovely downhill walk on the way back. 😁 Apartment was lovely and clean, plenty of room for us and a super handy bed/sofa that was easy to use each day. Only issue was we were never sent the door code for entry to the apartment. No-one seemed to reply on the info@abbeystrandapartments.com email address. Called twice and was told something about the company being bought out. Super helpful lady on the phone who then sent us the door code. That came from reception@oldtownchambers.com email address. Who knows who's running it. Great weekend break in a great apartment. Admin was rubbish though. As always, saved by the lovely friendly staff on the phone.

No WIFI but apt is beautiful

We loved this apartment, but if WiFi is at all important to you, be warned that although it is billed as including WiFi, it only worked for us in the building lounge and not in our apartment at all. Beautiful building in beautiful location—nearest neighbor seemed to be the king? It’s right by the palace and across from the parliament building. Very quiet at night but it’s a walk to groceries. Housekeeping every day. Excellent bed but bed in fold out couch could have been better (but we have had worse). Check-in process was a little mysterious because our email with instructions didnt get send until very late morning that day and we had already left our previous accommodation and had no access to email

Very comfortable apartment with well done amenities. Spotless. Would definitely stay there again. Right next to Holyrood House, Parliament and Dynamic Earth. Less conveniently located for other areas although the #35 bus is steps away.

Stunning.

This apartment was beautiful, location superb. The decoration of a very high standard like a luxury hotel. The 2 bedrooms and bathrooms absolutely stunning! We loved this beautiful apartment and wished it had not been a flying visit! The cleanliness is immaculate and the overall feel is very warm and inviting! We will return one day’ if you want a location with views and just off the Royal Mile this is wonderfully place! Beautiful, highly recommended

Quiet yet close

Great location, right at the end of the Royal Mile so you're close to everything but still in a quiet little spot. Beautiful garden and view of the crag overlooking the city. Very well appointed apartments, very clean. Overall our favourite place to stay while on our trip to the UK.

Highly recommend this property. Has the best of both a hotel and a apartment (still had somewhere to store luggage when we check out, umbrellas, lobby to wait for taxis). Great staff (Peter), couldn't be more helpful!

The apartment was beautiful!! Clean, decorated lovely and functional. The bathrobes provided were an extra nice. The location was just perfect. We went to breakfast about a quarter of a mile away. Quiet, tucked away by the Holyrood house gardens, it was the perfect place to stay.

We thought the room was really amazing and in just about the best location you could imagine. We had a lot of trouble with instructions such as we received a map for parking and the map had nothing to do with where parking actually would be. We were told there was a common room where we could do laundry, but we never discovered where that common room might be so there were definitely some communications issues With a mysterious person who we would communicate with via messages . We ended up parking very expensively in one place the day we rented a car. We never got the laundry done.

Amazing!

The location was beautiful, it’s right next to the palace. The apartment was so beautiful and well decorated. My children loved reading in the window seats. It was an excellent apartment with an excellent location. The communication was also really great. We received the code to enter early and they also helped with recommending a taxi service to the airport.

Incredibly comfortable and luxurious with meticulous attention to detail and conscious efforts made to supply local products. The location is ideal for city access yet safe and quiet in the grounds of Holyrood Palace. The facilities were high tech and without a user manual which meant we struggled to use the oven and had no heating all week…

Location was absolutely incredible. Very comfortable and clean. Everymorning woke up overlooking Holyrood House. Stunning. Only problem was the 3 flights if spiral staircase that's one had to maneuver up and eventually down with larger suitcases. We were traveling for 15 days. Beyond that wonderful

Great location and space in Edinburgh

The location was incredible. Right next to Hollyrood and perfect for a few days in Edinburgh. Well decorated and appointed. The in house laundry a dream. And the gardens out back (chef’s kiss). The only downside was the sliding bathroom door that didn’t want to stay it’s tracks

Cheval exceeded our expectations! It was clean, quiet, large, comfortable, and recently renovated. There is a lot to do nearby and everything is walkable. However, it is at the end of the Royal Mile at the bottom of a gentle hill. The good thing is it provides a peaceful night's sleep. The not-so-good thing is that is at one end of the town so you have to walk towards the center of town to do everything.

Easy walk home down slope from city center. Perfect place for Uber drop off and pick up. Comfy bed, and seating. Kitchen had enough. Temp easy to regulate. Hop on off bus stop right out front along with city bus. Super safe for a single woman or lbgtq even at night. Nice views from apt. Lots to do w/I a one block radius. No lift may be an issue for some. But overall great location and stay!
