We were pleasantly surprised. The owners, Ines and her boyfriend, run the hotel and made us feel like family. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently located. We will certainly be back on our next trip to Florence!

Great location, great rates, friendly owners

No-frills, small hotel (eight rooms?) run by a very friendly and fluent German couple. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is not included but is easily obtainable in the neighborhood. Fantastic location adjacent to the Piazza della Signoria (although ongoing construction makes the entrance a bit difficult to find!).

A little confusing at first to find the actual hotel in the building. You can't find a better location if you want to walk around Florence. Cab took me right to the door from the airport. I am an older female and was travelling on my own, but never felt unsafe.

Hotel Por Santa Maria was great! Location was absolutely perfect, it was within a ten minute walk to just about every single place we wanted to go. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The set up of the place was a little odd, it’s as if you’re staying in an apartment and then renting out individual rooms, so they each lock with a key but the fridge is for sharing out in the main area, as well as the reception is right out your door as if it were in like a “living room” of an apartment. Service was great though, due to the place I didn’t expect housekeeping and they did! They had a fridge with refreshments to buy, and just were overall very nice and lovely. Room was great but I did think it was one large queen but it was two twin beds pushed together which wasn’t great but it was fine, and room had a tiny mini safe. Overall would absolutely stay again, particularly for the location!!!

Perfect and very safe. Great location, within walking distance from most points of attractions. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. I really appreciated the safety precautions in that we were given a keys to main street door, then to door to access the rooms on 4th floor and the one for our individual room. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Responded quickly when asked to help navigate remote to thermostat in the room and called a taxi for us upon checking out. If you want a great location at a good price, this is your place!

The property is located centrally to visit most of the typical tourist sites in downtown Rome such as Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Coliseum, etc. Close to lots of dining options at various price points. We walked most everywhere, and took the Metro or a cab to a few places. Helpful staff, great breakfast provided in the morning. Elevator (small) to get bags to your room. Not handicap friendly, but our room had a nice bathroom and king bed. Will assist in reserving a cab to the airport or from the airport for ease of travel. Would definitely go back here.

Nice accommodations in Florence

Loved the location and the people running it are nice and accessible. The air conditioning is the best we had while in Italy! Feels like you are living in an apartment or townhouse, not a traditional hotel experience. Very reasonably priced and great location! Would stay here again.

Owners are a lovely your couple, this is a small place with 8 rooms. Clean, comfortable bed, good shower pressure, air conditioned, elevator in the main building. Surprisingly quiet considering the area is very busy. No TV in the rooms, not a negative for me. There is a common use refrigerator. Good WiFi.
