Amazing stay at Casa Do Poço

We had a very nice time at Casa Do Poço. The hosts were very friendly and helpfull. We enjoyed the view from the rooftop and were very happy with the availability of a clean swimming pool.

Very nice appartement

The appartement is very well decorated and we enjoyed especially the nice pool. Our host Luiz was always very helpful and friendly. Only negative point: The appartement is located directly at the street, therefore it is quite noisy.

Relaxing stay

I came with my husband for 5 days in Funchal. The place is perfect to relax after a full visit or hiking day in Madeire. The beautiful view from the terrace, the swimming pool, the rooftop are peaceful.The bungalow is written for 4. I find it perfect for 2 as the bedroom has no window and one needs to keep the door open with the living room. The description and pictures of the bungalow and shared property are exact, the place is super clean and beautiful. Moreover Isabel and Luiz are very reactive to any question. I recommend without hesitation.

A months stay

Luiz and Isabel were very welcoming and the photographs show their beautiful property with a lovely pool with a long deck overlooking Funchal which was misleading as this was not the apartments outlook. The apartment was clean but was dated and gloomy as there was only one window which was in the living area, the bedroom had no natural light or ventilation. So it was necessary to have a dehumidifier on during the day. There was no sound proofing between the apartments and as our bedroom adjoined the living area of the next apartment we were woken early in the morning by loud voices, scrapping furniture and rattling crockery. The kitchen was not suitably equipped for a long stay as there was no oven and with the lack of preparation space we had very limited cooking options. We were also concerned about the number of electrical extension cables running multiple devices which could be a fire hazard. So taking the above into account we did not feel it was good value for money

Très bon séjour chez Luiz et Isabel !La vue est magnifique, l’appartement est bien placé. Petit bémol pour la porte d’entrée qui donne directement sur la rue donc assez bruyant lorsqu’un véhicule passe. Un rideau devant la porte serait peut être une bonne idée pour atténuer le bruit et la lumière. À part ça, nous avons été très bien accueillis par Luiz. Il est dans l’échange et a envie que le séjour de ses hôtes se passe au mieux. N’hésitez pas pour votre séjour, allez y sans hésitation.

Sehr schönes Anwesen, sehr gute Erklärungen vom Hausherr bzgl. Essen gehen -gleichn um die Ecke mit Einheimischen, super nett, sehr gut und immer wieder. Nebenstrasse direkt am Haus , manchmal etwas laut, vor allem am Morgen wenn die Leute zu Arbeit fahren. Sonst alles super.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine de vacances à Madeire et particulièrement à Funchal. Endroit très agréable et très bien situé pour la visite de l'île. A recommander sauf si on ne supporte pas la cloche de l'église qui sonne tous les quart d'heure. Propriétaire très accueillant, bienveillant et très discret. Tolle Anlage, Natur wohin man sieht Guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge ans Meer, nach Funchal und in die Berge, man sollte fit sein bzw. sich auf Bus und Taxi einstellen, alles sehr preiswert Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, haben bei einem Sturz alles für uns getan. Perfect holiday accommodation

Casa do Poco II was the perfect accomodation for our 10 day stay in Madeira. It answered precisely to the online description, but exceeded our expectations. The three bungalows are cleverly organized in the host grounds to ensure privacy. Although they share bathing and sunbathing facilities with the hosts, Luiz and Isabel, it was very relaxed and there was never a feeling that we were in the way. The bungalow was clean, comfortable and cosy with all the facilities we needed. The views from the terraces are stunning. Its location in a neigbourhood on one of the hills above Funchal gave it a very authentic feel, and the local bars and restaurants were good and friendly. We didn’t rent a car, but the local and urban public transport worked very well. The bus ride up and down to Funchal was an experience in itself. Luiz was very helpful with tips about restaurants and places to visit etc. We followed his advice, and it was never wrong. Thank you for that! If you are looking to experience Madeira and Funchal away from the tourist hotels of the Lido area, we can certainly recommend Casa do Poco. Unterkunft mit wunderschönem Blick

Das kleine Apartment (wirklich nur für 2 Leute geeignet) liegt wunderschön oberhalb von Funchal. Leider zogen bei uns nachmittags regelmäßig Wolken auf, und die Sonne verschwand. Abends hatte man dann aber wieder einen bezaubernden Blick auf die beleuchtete Stadt. Die Ausstattung des Apartments war gut, das Bett leider etwas hart. In der Küche hätte ich mir etwas mehr gewünscht. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und Fatima ist ein Juvel.

Genau richtig

Die Wohnung liegt genau richtig zur Erkundung dieser wunderschönen Insel. Oberhalb von Funchal mit Blick über die Stadt kann sie schnell mit Bus oder Mietwagen erreicht werden. Gutes Restaurant, kleine Bar und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten fußläufig, noch wenig vom Touristenstrom entdeckt. Die Wohnung und der Gastgeber sind sehr zu empfehlen, sehr freundlich, unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung entspricht der Beschreibung, für 2 Personen ideal. Von uns ein Dank an den Gastgeber und eine Empfehlung für Nachahmer.

Ein Paradies für alle, die die Ruhe lieben

Die Casa do Poço ist ein Anwesen, auf dem traditionelle Bausubstanz mit neuen Ideen gekonnt verbunden wurde, und so ist ein ganz besonderer Ort mit gemütlicher Atmosphäre entstanden. Es gibt drei voneinander unabhängige Wohneinheiten, die an Gäste vermietet werden, und das Wohnhaus der Besitzer. Der Salzwasserpool steht allen zu freien Verfügung, ebenso die beiden Terrassen mit einer wundervollen Aussicht auf Funchal, den Hafen und die bewaldeten Berge hinter dem Haus - schön, um ein Stück zu laufen! Isabel und Luiz sind wunderbare herzliche Gastgeber, mit offenen Ohren für alle Fragen rund um den Aufenthalt auf Madeira. In fünf Minuten zu Fuß erreicht man alle Geschäfte um sich zu versorgen, kann das Auto vor der Haustüre parken, oder eine der Buslinien nutzen, um ins Stadtzentrum zu gelangen. Dabei ist es ruhig und hervorragend zum Arbeiten geeignet, fern vom Getöse und den Ablenkungen der Stadt. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder! Casa do Poço is an estate where traditional building fabric has been skilfully combined with new ideas, creating a very special place with a cosy atmosphere. There are three independent living units which are rented out to guests, and the owners' home. The salt water pool is free for all to enjoy, as are the two terraces with magnificent views of Funchal, the harbour and the wooded mountains behind the house - lovely to walk around a bit! Isabel and Luiz are wonderfully warm hosts, with open ears for all questions about staying in Madeira. It's a five-minute walk to all the shops to get supplies, you can park your car outside the front door, or use one of the bus routes to get downtown Funchal. Yet it's quiet and great for working, away from the hubbub and distractions of the city. I will be very happy to come back!
