“The cottage was attractively decorated and furnished and was very well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The information handbook was comprehensive.It was very clean and well maintained and was also in a wonderful location with beautiful scenery all around it.The only downside was the bathroom and the lack of shower screen and wall mounted shower. ”

“Great location and lovely cottage. Very comfortable. It has been perfect for my needs.If I could suggest any improvement, it would be to change the upstairs bathroom matting as it’s looking discoloured and dirty.This is the second time I’ve stayed here and I will definitely be back ”

“Well this booking was made on the whole purpose of having a relaxing weekend after running 350km for charity over the past few months. So we booked here for the hot tub and the relevant ease of running a Park Run on the Saturday. After running this Park Run we returned back to the accommodation for our day of in and out of the hot tub. Although this turned out to be turned off so we had an ice bath, not advertised on the website. We then were told that we would get a nights refund for this……

“Beautifully clean cottage in an idyllic setting. The house was lovely and warm when we arrived, which was very much appreciated for a chilly weekend, as were the fresh milk and delicious biscuits. Fantastic walks all over, every one of which our dogs loved.The cottage had everything we needed. A very well equiped kitchen, and we were happy to see for the first time in all our rentals, proper Gin glasses! Large, quality wine glasses too. In fact, the cottage was equipped with quality……

“We had a lovely stay at The Old Barn, it’s well equipped, quiet and dog friendly. The parking worked well, we have a 4x4 and a tow bar mounted bike rack. We also appreciated having a secure shed for our bikes. The neighbours are friendly and made us feel welcome, we are planning to return to the cottage to explore the area further. My only comment is about recycling as we couldn’t find a recycling bin. But we did locate and use the local recycling facility, which is at The Reeth Dales Centre.”

“I really good find. Dogs Welcome. Spotlessly clean. warm, super comfy beds, lovely bedding. Well equipped. Great walks right on the doorstep and a lovely little village. Would highly recommend to all. Hope to be able to return in the near future.”

“We loved the cottage however it wasn’t cleaned to a very good standard. We found someone else’s underwear in the drawers, opened food in the freezer and dirt in the bath on the first day. Cottage was well situated in the village and easily accessible. Local pubs were closed on Monday and Tuesday so not ideal if you want to eat out on these nights. We walked to one pub on the Wednesday to have dinner however we were not greeted in a friendly manner which put us off. We had one drink and left.……

“Second stay in Barn Cottage, it was as wonderful as the first. Beautiful cottage, all you could need in the kitchen to cook a meal. Lovely would burning stove, the shower was fantastic. Will be back.”
