“Heritage buildings with a lot of character and skylights everywhere. Comfy bed, clean environment, excellent location. Bath rooms, carpeting and furniture (vintage and in need of refinish) could use a bit of facelift, but overall the buildings are cute. It seems that every room is unique. The location is excellent - two blocks from Pier 21 and close to Dalhousie. Can be noisy if you open the windows (but who doesn't love operable windows?). Free parking in the back of the hotel was a plus.”

“We checked in very late, close to midnight due to our flight, and received a less than warm reception. But after that, everything was great. Breakfast was good and had enough variety. Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed more towels and shampoo. And everything was clean and comfortable. One thing, though. This hotel is uphill from everything downtown so, for me, it wasn’t as walkable as I expected. This area of Halifax is all hill. If you have mobility issues, you’ll want to stay……
