「Really cosy and a lovely place to stay - I stayed on my own and the staff were friendly, the food was good and the room was really comfortable and spacious. The location is great as there are walks starting in Glenridding meaning you haven't got to drive anywhere and it was a quieter area. My only grumble is that it would have been nice to use the bath but it was so grubby and I didn't fancy laying in the tub.」

「The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

「The the property and gardens, of course are phenomenal. This is an older. estate property so some issues can be expected with the conditions of the finishes. Unfortunately, with us being seniors, it was very difficult for us to get our luggage to the third floor by stairs. The size of the rooms are also quite small but clean. Furniture in the room was appropriate for the period and comfortable. The staff was very helpful in trying to resolve outside issues such as Parking in town which is not...

「The room was small but very well maintained and clean. The breakfast you could not fault, although you had to give your choice on the night before which personally not in favour of. The staff were very attentive, pleasant and efficient.
The situation in the middle of the village ideal and parking on site, excellent. No dogs allowed on site which I am in favour of.」
