"A gorgeous property, top notch and caring service, wonderful food and a beautiful onsen. This is a spectacular place for a stay on Miyajima. We arrived early and our bags were quickly stored. Check in was smooth. The room was large and had a beautiful view of the foliage on the mountainside and sound of the nearby creek. It was so quiet and peaceful! We had included dinner which was delicious as was breakfast. The onsen is magical. Everything about Iwaso was fantastic. Stay here for a traditional ryokan experience. Highly recommended!!"

"The views from our room were spectacular. The staff were very friendly. Lots of free amenities for the guests. The only draw back was that they did not have options for vegetarian. If you have specific dietary restrictions please let them know in advance so they can accommodate. When I booked the hotel there was no option for me to mention’s dietary restrictions. "

"We stayed in the room with the open air bath and it was a beautiful room. The open air bath was worth it with a view of the famous gate. The staff was amazing and so respectful. The location was close to the shrine and shops and not far from the rope pull to go to top of mountain. Highly recommend this hotel! "

"Extremely convenient location across from the JR Ferry terminal. The staff was so friendly and accommodating to our 2 year old. The room and bath were beautiful. Breakfast buffet was great and the free drinks/treats in the lobby were a nice addition"

"Everything about this hotel is perfect. The staff were incredible and very accommodating. The shuttle service was very convenient and made sure to wait for everyone. The dinner and breakfast were both amazing, it was really great getting two meals full of local foods. The view out the hotel window was fantastic, we could sit and just look outside for hours at the deer walking around the beach. It was a perfect mix of traditional Japanese hospitality with modern comfort and convenience. Our favorite hotel we stayed at during our two weeks in Japan."

"Nice and quiet, Im assuming there WAS a bar that is no longer in operation. If it were open, it would’ve had a livelier atmosphere. We stayed for a night so that we could enjoy Miyajima Island at night and not have to haul our kids back to Osaka on the train. It was also nice to see the area early and later outside of the high traffic tourist hours. "
