"Liked the location, easy walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Nice breakfast which is rare in the area. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and they gave us each a beautiful, lei with fresh flowers smelled so good. It meant a lot to us. My husband fell during the night, I called the front desk, they had the first responders there so fast, the EMS wasn’t far behind. They took him to the hospital. Several employees asked how he was doing and asked if I needed anything. What a way to spend the beginning of our trip like this but the Hyatt Place staff were so kind to us. We’d recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Honolulu. Thanks again…"

"I love staying at the Royal Kona. I think it’s a great value for so many reasons. Great room options, especially if you want to save a few dollars on renovation rates. On the ocean with a pool and a saltwater beach I haven’t gotten to enjoy yet (my fault!). Restaurant is right by the pool so you can grab drinks or food. The restaurant does breakfast starting at 06:30! I think they end dinner at 21:30. Ice machine and purified water station, wifi, parking if you don’t mind a $25 daily rate. There’s parking in general in the area but it can get pretty busy. In the heart of Kailua-Kona so if you plan on staying on Ali’i Drive and taking advantage of amenities there without a car rental, you might be able to make it work. I appreciate the welcome package: two bottles waters in your fridge and two drink ticket for Mai Tai’s but I believe you can get mocktails instead if you prefer. I think it’s pretty wheelchair/walker accessible: ramps and elevators that are pretty well kept up. I have to say even the partial ocean views make all of this worth it. Waking up to stunning blue waters and waving palm trees is hard to beat. Then you can just wander out to the nearby beaches or to the many shops and restaurants nearby. I don’t really see a need to stay anywhere else if I’m honest! You can feel the love and alpha from everyone at this resort. Can’t wait to be back!"

"I like that there were multiple pools that could be used including the one with slide on the paradise pool. Good for kids to enjoy. I didn’t like the cleanliness of the room. The sheets were not clean and hair and stains the first thing we came to our room after checking in close to midnight. Tub and near the sink was hair and the refrigerator was extremely outdated. A lot of pressure with the marketing team was not really appropriate and took away significant time from the trip given I only had full 5 days to be there. I did like that Waikīkī beach was reasonable distance to walk 20 min if walking moderately with my child in a stroller. Access band provided by hotel. Some activities, but timings were extremely early and not that many unfortunately for kids. I wish it would be throughout the day passed 1:30 pm and more kids activities since it’s mostly family oriented resort. Unfortunately, the food and even the supermarket items were extremely pricy. I would say a lot more pricier than NY!!! And that says a lot! Not even complimentary breakfast for all the money being charged. Resort fees does not match the value of what you get. Extremely expensive. My overall rating of this place 2.5/5"
