"We have stayed in many hotels and B&B’s but this is by far one of the best . From the moment we walked through the doors we were made to feel welcome , micheal welcomed us and was very informative, he told us about places to eat and never pushed his own restaurant on us but we are so glad we booked the restaurant, the food was top class , definitely up there 5 🌟. The breakfast menu was huge, not your standard menu. The hotel is modern , clean and bright . A big thank you to all the staff that made our stay. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back ."

"Lovely room with a fantastic bath and shower in the bathroom. In the bedroom there is a huge tv which you can move the angle of the screen so that you can view comfortably from either the bed or small sofa, the tv even had a fire stick which we really appreciated. The heating was just right too, not too hot or too cold. Fabulous central location and free on road parking about 10 min walk away. Jonah the owner is lovely and checked we had everything we needed, he even let us check in early. "

"We had a fantastic stay at this property for my sister’s hen do. The space is spacious and clean and the hosts extremely responsive and helpful. Because it is a former hotel, every bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. This made the process of everyone getting ready to go out in the evenings so much easier.For me, one of the best features is the layout. The main living and social areas are located on the bottom floor, which is effectively sound gapped by the ground floor above it. This meant those who wanted to head to bed earlier could sleep while the rest of the party continued downstairs without disturbing anyone.The location is also excellent. It is a short walk into Ilfracombe town centre, which was great for grabbing ice creams and pasties by the sea. The bus routes into Barnstaple are reliable and cheap, with one-way tickets costing only 3.I would highly recommend this property to any large group looking for a comfortable, well-located base in Devon. We’re already looking at rebooking for a family birthday. We had a brilliant time, and it really made the hen weekend special."

"Wouldn’t stay here again- dirty, old and the floorboards are ludicrous; Upstairs let me awake or ensured I was up when they were. "

"It is a fab location and our room had a great view of the harbour. It is an old building full of character which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it could do with a refresh as some decor and carpets are a bit grubby."
