「After the hustle and bustle of the city, Chapel of Barras was just what the Dr. ordered. I’m traveling for pleasure, but also to finish a book I’ve been putting off, and this was a perfect stop. It was peaceful, quiet, perfect for my early morning yoga—followed by a delightful and filling homemade breakfast—a couple hours walking, then plenty of uninterrupted time to put pen to paper. Michelle and David were especially lovely: 10/10 would recommen. 」

「A lovely overnight stay. The sandwiches at lunchtime ( especially the Club) and the truffle and Parmesan fries were superb as was dinner. Lovely clean rooms, tastefully decorated throughout the hotel and staff were extremely helpful. What a stunning position next to the river!」

「Had a lovely stay here. Room was sufficient, bathroom was clean. Bed was comfy. It's in a great location. 15 mins from train station. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was a cold buffet, cereals, toast, yogurt, pasties anc coffees, teas, orange juice. Great, would stay here again.」

「What a great host Angela was. We felt welcomed from the time we arrived. Our room was very clean and everything that was promised. The cliff trail was stunning and most needed after a long drive. The only issue I had was a lack of hot water when I showered. However, after breakfast it was fine.」

「The Northern is a lovely hotel, rooms clean, plenty of storage, toiletries, kettle & TV. We had dinner one night of our 2 night stay, food was delicious. We had breakfast one morning, I had full vegetarian breakfast, my friend full Scottish, both delicious & filling!」

「Such a treat to stay at this location! The staff and food were amazing and the lodge was like a step back in time, but with all the modern amenities. I stayed in the sweetest room that was just perfect for my needs. The sound of the rushing water from the river was constant and soothing and could be heard from all corners and areas of the facility. Very well worth every effort made to be there.」
