“This is a lovely and comfortable place. The space is organized in a slightly awkward way, but it's completely workable. The host is great at communications, and accommodated us with an early check-in. The small streets of this neighborhood are quiet and well cared for, and the machiya is very close to Kenroku-en Garden. Other areas are a short walk away. We very much appreciated being able to stay here.”

“Great area with an excellent restaurant across the street. On the route for the hop on hop off bus. Very clean and lots of room. Kitchen is very well equipped and beds were very comfortable even though they were the traditional Japanese style. Bathrooms upstairs and down. Great property for a larger group or family. ”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "art hotel". The decorations are nice, the kitchen was fully equipped, and everything was very clean. It's in a great location, right near Higashi Chaya. There are only two things to watch out for: - The stairs are very steep and can be difficult to climb with a suitcase. - There aren't a lot of places nearby that are open at night. But after our first night, we knew to plan ahead and this wasn't a huge deal. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again.……
