"We came to this house for the eclipse and we had a great stay. The house is cozy and cute. The hosts are great communicators. The lake is just nearby. We made smores in the backyard fire pit. We had a great time!"

"We had a wonderful time on Orchard Island! Such a friendly area. Our trip was to see the eclipse and we were not disappointed. We would love to come back in the summer and actually use the lake! We were saddened by all the tornado damage in the area but Chris was so helpful about keeping us updated on the house and businesses in the area. We were happy to come and support the area."

"This was the perfect property for a mini-family reunion. We fit very comfortably with two families with young kids plus grandparents. The open living room/kitchen area and huge dining area in the converted back porch provided tons of room for the kids to play and adults to relax. The backyard is also great for entertaining with plenty of seating on the dock and back deck. We had a gathering with extended family one afternoon (17 people) and there was plenty of space to socialize, plus the visitors were very complimentary of the property. There is a playground just around the corner, and we also enjoyed taking the canoe on the lake. The host was very communicative and friendly and the house was extremely well-stocked with any supplies you might need (all the condiments, serving dishware/party supplies, outdoor gear, even beer and ice cream sandwiches!). This place is a true gem!"

"We had the perfect spot grow which to view the Total Solar Eclipse in April 8, 2024! We sat on the back deck with the small waves “clucking” by our feet while watching the amazing show put on by Nature herself!! The playground was five minutes walk away which was great for our 5-year-old and the kayak in the garage was a treat for our 10-year-old! The beds had great mattresses, the heating and AC worked well! The showers had decent pressure! We just could not have asked for a better place to spend our Eclipse days! Thank you to Mitch, the owner, for affording us this experience!"

"We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful lake cottage. It was in the perfect spot for the eclipse and for family to gather to witness it. The kitchen is well stocked and was easy to cook in, the beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of places to gather inside and out. Would recommend!"
