「When we got to our room, there was a stain on the bed, no toilet paper anywhere to be found, the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed, cushions on the chairs were hanging off. Overall, it felt like a very dirty room. We were supposed to spend 4 nights at the lodge and we ended up spending 30 minutes there and leaving to book a room at the hotel down the road for 4 nights instead. 」

「I actually don’t have any issues with the property. It was very adequate. The problem was Expedia made a mistake and double booked us. when I told the property manager this. They chose to check us into all four rooms anyhow and charged us resort fees for all four rooms even though they knew we only booked two rooms and the other two were a mistake. They then refused to refund any of the resort feees or charges.」

「Frequently stay in the Fairplay area for work and the Hand hotel has been by far the most enjoyable place to stay. The other option (Riverside Inn) has always been extremely noisy and the staff don't seem to care much about customer concerns. The Hand hotel staff were excellent and it was convenient having the cafe down-stairs... just be aware it isn't open every morning, but there are other options close by. It is a historic building so keep that in mind when booking.」

「Parking with a truck and snowmobile trailer was horrible. I called the hotel in advance before booking and asked about parking. I was told they have bus and truck.trailer parking on site. This was NOT true! The lot is small and there were 10 abandoned cars also taking up spots making matters worse. If the person would have tols the truth I would never have stayed here! The hotel itself is worn out and well used. The front staff were all rude and one guy was only interested in watching his...

「Loved the wooded property so close to Lake Dillon. Individual buildings with rooms gave the property a very unique camp vibe. Would love to stay in the summertime.」
