“Our room, on the first floor, was excellent with lovely views. The food was of a high quality and the service was very good except on one of our three evenings when we were forgotten about and it took at least three complaints to get our meal started. On this occasion we were in the restaurant for about two hours and it took 45 minutes before we got our starter. This was a shame because otherwise everything was perfect.”

“Great location very quiet we found our room ( Heather )was very small with furniture over hanging the bed near to your pillow and you had to be very carefull when getting up in the night as the gap between the wardrobe and bed was very tight.”

Nice breakfast. Only negative is that the hotel really needs a bit of a refurb/modernisation, but for the price it's still great value. Highly recommended”

“Lovely spot near Grasmere Lake right in the centre of Grasmere. Lots of nice walks nearby. Plenty of pubs/hotels to eat and drink nearby. Would stay here again.”

“Very quiet, cozy & comfortable Inn. Although located in a remote area of Lake District, easy to find & can reach other spots easily. Must try the dinner at the restaurant which is very good with reasonable price. Only the towel rack in my room is not working which is a minor stuff. Furthermore everything in the breakfast seems overcooked.”

“The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a room with a balcony with lovely views. The room was small and in need of an upgrade in my opinion. Older furniture. The bathroom whilst a good size with nice toiletries was also looking tired in parts. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate Sunday lunch in the restaurant. “This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Amthweight Hall, the accommodation was excellent, as was the staff, they couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast was 10 out of 10, and again, very helpful, as my wife wanted her coffee a paticular temperature, and strength, they bent over backwards to make her perfect cup of coffee !! The grounds and the building, are kept immaculate. The Spa facilities, again 10 out of 10, gym, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, swimming pool and outside hot pool, plenty……
