“The hotel territory is outstanding! Breakfast, amenities and facilities were on top! Old money vibes. The only area for improvement is more soundproof walls in the rooms.”

“A very good hotel with an excellent breakfast and great amenities. The room we stayed in—located on the floor 0 felt a bit dated; upon entering, there was a noticeable stale odor. In the evenings, there is wonderful live music in the bar and a very pleasant atmosphere. It is an adults-only hotel, though I would say its 55+. I recommend it for a peaceful, relaxing getaway!”

“We were forced to book this hotel last minute due to a cancelled flight and no other options. It was incredibly expensive and not worth the cost. The hotel is very old and outdated and the wifi does not work. We were able to check in late and the room was clean but I would not stay there again for that price. Definitely taking advantage of low inventory on the island”

“A lovely hotel in the city centre. I had a refurbished room which was very comfortable with modern decor and feel. Breakfast was plentiful but could have been varied a bit from day to day. I enjoyed using the pool but the sun umbrellas were not in use as I was told they had previously blown over in the wind. I couldn’t help but notice that other places in Funchal (bars etc) had similar umbrellas and used well designed sand bags to ensure they didn’t tip over. Maybe a something the hotel can look……

“We have just had a 3 night stay at the Hotel and it was lovely. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception. The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also……

“Very good sized apartment in a good location, within walking distance to the marina, old town, restaurants and a nearby shopping centre with a supermarket. Simple check in process via a door code. Very quiet in the evenings. The shower is large but due to the set up the water does spill over as there is no shower door. The apartment got warm which was ok in April with the plug in fan but would likely be too hot in the summer with no air con”
