“We didn't end up staying here, we had to get a hotel. This place was gross. Infested with cockroaches and you could see where many of them had been killed on the ceiling and walls, there were splattered bug remains. ”

“Great location. Easy access to Nags Head & Manteo. Good choice to stay if you are looking for a more affordable location that offers a little more than the basics. It is an older building, so have reasonable expectations. Room size is LARGE! Ideal if you have multiple guests &/or pets. Overall the most cost effective location I’ve found for this area.”

“Absolutely recommend the sunset surf shack for a little getaway in OBX. The hosts Amber and Brett have a lovely home and were great with communication and any recommendations that you may need help with during your stay. Local to the beach and with what they offer in allowing use of the bikes for the path or if you want to take a paddle out in the bay they are very kind to offer that. Highly recommend staying again if we get the chance. Thank you again Amber and Brett for having us with you guys……

“Older property nicely renovated were perfect for a wedding in Manteo”

“If i could give it negative Stars I would.. Worst night ever in nags head. Overpriced, water leaking all night from ac unit couldn't see out the window the windows are all white from being old. People up at 5:30am stomping around outside. Beds were not comfortable.”

“Very clean and a great location- only a short walk to the beach and it's also within walking distance to a few different restaurants. We also loved sitting on the balcony in the morning with our coffee. Would definitely stay here again.”

“The location was the best part of this property. It is right by the beach and only a few minute walk will get you to the shore. The cleanliness is the biggest issue with this property. The property was filthy especially the kitchen and bedroom areas. The bed sheets had a horrible musty smell to them. The bed is also very uncomfortable and possibly broken. The utilities all worked fine in the kitchen but nothing was cleaned properly.”
