"The Commonwealth is my got-to hotel when visiting BU. The location is fabulous. The hotel is great. But the staff really make it 5-star. They consistently are kind, helpful and seem like they really enjoy their jobs. Yes matter how tired I am after a long flight, the front desk is welcoming and FUNNY. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The amenities are excellent. The gym is small but has everything most guests would need. I have had a few special requests and staff always accomodates. (eg: coffee maker in the room, roll away bed, special room service dietary needs)"

"This is a darling hotel in a great location, right next to the MIT Red Line. That being said, if you are staying in the front of the hotel on a lower level (which I was), you will hear the rumble of the T all night long. There is also a lot of light pollution coming from the Google building across the street. The room was very clean, but the bathroom was small-not large enough for two people to be in there at once. Buffet breakfast was quite adequate and tasted great. There is only one elevator serving the entire hotel, so it is slow. Most of the time, I took the stairs. Front desk staff acted like they were doing you a favor when you asked questions and were passive aggressive. They did grant me a extra hour past check out, but again, Ron acted like he didn't want to do it and was doing me a MAJOR favor. Never once was I asked how my stay was. For this price point, I think that I will choose another property on my next visit to Boston."
