“Oh my word this place is incredible. Bed was comfortable great location and the original aspects of the old building brought up to date with modern convenience. I think Jennifer and I will be getting more acquainted because I have a hard time finding a decent place to stay when I come to my hometown to visit. Carlinville is good little town close to my hometown and made attending my best friends wedding in Gillespie a breeze. We will be back.”

“Amazing and elegant rooms, living spaces, and furniture, with plenty of old relics and decorations to really make you feel like you’re living in the past. All that and modern mattresses, pillows, and sheets! Very comfortable!”

“This property is just ok. The kitchen is beautiful. The pictures didn’t lie. However, the beds are absolutely horrible. They are hard, uncomfortable and not fit for an extended stay. When it rains there is a rancid smell that consumes the unit. The owner cannot remedy this problem. When the rain stops the smell goes away. The washer and dryer is located in a smelly unfinished basement with missing buttons. It’s dark and unclean, and feels generally unsafe. I only recommend staying here for 2 days……

“Nice clean place...quiet...has steps to 2nd floor apartment.”

“We rented the 2nd and 3rd floors and were very pleased with the place. It definitely had the historic charm, was very clean, and very close to all of the historical attractions. Would definitely recommend. ”

“Property was very spacious, it is even roomier than it appears in photos we had a small get together and it was perfect size and had great features like the shower and open floor plan in kitchen, dining , living room area everything was just perfect.”
