This was by far my greatest stay so far in japan. Amazing food, amazing building, amazing onsen! But westerners be wary, you will need to sacrifice some of your typical understanding of amenitys, theres no showers in the rooms, and very little english is spoken in this whole town. That being said i cant rate it less than 5 stars! If you come to this hotel, be prepared to eat (amazing) foods you never thought youd try, and immerse youself in the japanese culture. If you do not want to immerse yourself, this may not be the place for you.

Hotel is a traditional Japanese Ryokan and the setting is very relaxing. The best feature to us is the free private bath, to some who are shy to use the public bath, this is a very nice feature to enjoy the hot spring without stress. Hotel also offers a shuttle bus from Kaurizawa station directly to the hotel , which is a very convenient option for those who travel by train.

お部屋の古さは感じましたが、大浴場や貸切露天風呂には大満足でした。 お夕飯ハーフビュッフェ、朝食のフルビュッフェ、いずれも美味しくいただきました。種類も多く、特に朝食の筑前煮は絶品でした。 夕食時のアルコール飲み放題もありがたかったです。 また是非訪問したいお宿です。

スタッフの対応は満足！だが…

スタッフの方（受付その他の皆様）の対応は素晴らしかったし、サービスも満足！そこだけ見たらまた行きたかった。 しかし、部屋に前利用者の使用済み浴衣があるなどしたため、清掃担当への不信が拭えず、部屋にあるコップ等は衛生面が気になり、使う事が出来ませんでした。 また、ティーパックが置かれていても電気ケトルが無い（案内のファイルには記載有）、置き時計が1時間ズレている、棚の引き出しが勝手に開くなど部屋には問題点が多かった。 清掃担当には、チェックリストを使いダブルチェックを行うなどしっかり指導をお願いします。 近くの居酒屋「遊月」はとても美味しくリーズナブルてお薦めです。

全体的に設備は整っており、温泉も素晴らしかったです。 湯畑行きのバスも出ていて快適でした。 お部屋のテーブルに食べ物がこびりついていたのが残念でした。 その他はとても良かったです。

和の雰囲気の綺麗な建物でスタッフの方々も親切丁寧な対応で館内バリアフリーでスリッパも履かないのが開放的で居心地が凄く良かったです。 温泉もとても気に入りました。 硫黄の香りプンプンで…これぞ草津って感じでした 1泊の滞在で温泉には5回程入りに行くくらい寛げました（笑） 食事も大満足…夕飯のフリードリンクや夜のラーメン等、余計な出費がないのも魅力でした。 湯畑へのシャトルバス等、サービス満点です。 敢えてあげるなら駐車場からフロントまでの階段…雰囲気は凄く良いのですがキャリーケースを転がせるスロープが欲しいなと思いました。 また是非利用させて頂きます。 ありがとうございました。
