「What a beautiful location! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot. The staff were all so freindly and helpful, especially the extremely polite dark haired gentleman at the bar when we arrived. He took the trouble to show me to the room and explained everything. The breakfast was also very good, great choice and lovely to sit with a view of the Abbey. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend.」

「There were some lovely touches about the general accommodation such as pretty chandeliers, nice artwork and grand mirrors. We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. 「Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. 」
