"The bed was the most comfortable I slept in so far. Room was large enough for a single person. They had free amenities in the lobby and the breakfast had a good Japanese spread. The only con is the elevator is super slow lol but at least they have one! Family mart underneath is super helpful. Would stay again and it's super close to the takachiho gorge! "

"Literally opposite Aso train station if arriving by train. Has plenty of parking and less than thirty minutes drive to the volcano visitors center. Feels brand new in 2025. Realistically you are going to need a car to have options for dinner etc. "

"Newly renovated Kumamon room made will make you smile. There are many photo opportunities with Kumamon in the property. Breakfast buffet is highly recommended. "

"Although Takachiho is a very small and quaint little town in the mountain countryside, this hotel is a gem. Service, quality and amenities beats many hotels in cities across Japan."
