「Planned a short getaway to hike Mount Mitchell and this place could not have been more perfectly located to the trailhead. The Lodge is newly built, and ground are impeccably well maintained. The staff was super helpful. They even came by to drop off a lighter so the firepit could be put to use. They have a common use area with a ktichen and grills that can be utilized which is an added bonus as I don’t recall reading about all they had available to make the stay above and beyond expectations....

「Overall, a nice stay. We were disappointed that Hazel’s restaurant was closed for renovations. Food options were limited, and food was just so-so. The staff at check in and at the general store were helpful, but it would have been nice to have a staff person in the upper lodge to welcome guests and answer questions. Coffee in the upper lodge would have been great as well. The room was very clean and looked to be recently renovated.」

「Cost of the stay was on par with the condition of the room. Was a somewhat strong mildew odor. Tolerable but not pleasant. Mattress was hard as steel. Outdated furniture but it served its purpose. Air conditioner struggled to maintain cool room temp but it worked. Had to set thermostat on 65 to maintain about 71-72 degrees. Owner was extremely nice and accommodating. Nighttime was peaceful with nice rocking chairs to sit in just outside the room. Would I stay there again? Maybe, but not likely...

「This property is in a fantastic location! Less than 15 minutes to several different cute mountain towns. The property is nice but the single lane road throughout the property is anxiety inducing and should probably be disclosed in the details. Although set up quite strangely with no sink or counter space in the bathroom, the room was very nice. The ceiling fan was another story. My husband and I agreed that we have never heard a ceiling fan make so many different, strange, loud noises. And there...
