"We have stayed at this hotel several times and this is the dustiest and most “challenged” of our stays. I look forward to the upcoming renovation and hope that property ownership takes noise mitigation into account, especially with any of the adjoining rooms. The property is well cared for and the staff is very nice, however some improvements could be made to make each room cleaner. The restaurant no longer can charge to room which may seem like no big deal but the hotel offers amenity packages with free drinks, free breakfast and money off of dinner. Keeping track of several receipts will be tougher for certain clients, so I hope the property fixes the POS system."

"Loved the staff, all were super friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable but the duvet was a weird weighted ribbed tablecloth situation versus a blanket. The hotel is in need of repairs like ripped carpets, light in hallway hanging off the wall, the entire wooden wall with the air conditioner against the window was coming off the wall. The ice machine on our floor was out of order. For being 15 floors up the road below is surprisingly loud at night and so we used the fan which did a lot of clanky noises but worked. The towels were super soft and the water pressure was amazing. Not having a coffee maker in the room was a bummer, there was a coffee station in the lobby but nothing for making tea so I asked the front desk for hot water, I brought my own tea, they were very nice about getting water. It was unclear who the valet people were since there was no valet podium. As a result I pulled into the side up the garage entryway where the valet clearly had an office and we had to rush unloading there and apparently in the process I lost a shoe which never showed up in the lost and found. I feel it was overpriced but still had a nice stay and the view of the lake was beautiful"

"We had a wonderful stay at The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown, though we hit a small bump at check-in. We had booked a room with a city view, but the front desk assigned us a different room layout. While it was a bit disappointing, we decided not to say anything and just headed up. In the evening, the hotel manager proactively called our room to sincerely apologize for the mix-up. To make things right, she graciously offered us free breakfast for both days of our stay! This level of attentiveness and professionalism completely transformed our experience. The team at The Royal Sonesta truly understands excellent customer service and outstanding service recovery. Highly recommended for anyone visiting downtown Chicago!"

"Nice place, great location, super friendly and helpful staff, but man the food in the restaurant in the lobby is lousy. The breakfast buffet is a ok, but the lunch and dinner tasted like high school cafeteria food."

"1st time stay in downtown Chicago and the hotel is placed perfectly near everything! Lots of food choice options everywhere and tour options just a block away. We took the"L" from the airport with just a short walk, no need for a car. They held our luggage for us at checkout so that we could enjoy one last tour before we left. Definitely would come back to this hotel."
