"The property manager was not responsive to my messages requesting check-in information the morning of our check-in. I had to contact VRBO customer service for assistance. The villa was somewhat clean. There were cigarette butts in the widow sills that made the place stink. The views were nice. Although, 2 of the balconies in the photos were not accessible as the doors to them were locked. I also received no instructions for checkout. "Beautiful view and location. We loved sitting on the patio for coffee, wine and reading. Very peaceful location. The view is actually better than the pictures show. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking in. The only reason I gave 4 stars for cleanliness was only due to a musty smell in the closets and kitchen cabinet but we totally understand it is a humid climate and there is only so much everyone can do to mitigate those issues. It was not a big deal at all....

"The rooms were clean, and large with large opening windows or balconies to dry your clothes or to let in a breeze. The staff were very nice, friendly and quite helpful. There is exactly enough parking if the hotel is full, as there is two parking lots. Even as the last to come back at the end of the day, we were able to park our mini SUV without issue. The hotel has incredible views of the mountains that surround Boaventura The pool and outdoor relaxation space was very nice to come back to each day for either an afternoon rest or an evening swim. The jacuzzi was not the warmest in the world. You do have to pay 10 euro to use the sauna. Pool hours are 9am-8pm, it would be great if the pool was open later for the late returning travelers. There is plenty of shared space on be property inside and out as well. The buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day, not many options but the options available were good (deli meats, cheese, breads, cereal, fruit and toast, plus coffee and juice). Breakfast hours are from 8am-10am which does make it difficult to enjoy the breakfast if you plan on going somewhere for the sunrise. The dinner menu also had a few choices and the portions were decently large. The hours here are 7pm-9pm which again can make it difficult to enjoy if you go out for a sunset or are maximizing the day on another part of the island."

"We loved the location and rooftop pool of this stay, in Madeira. The room was simple, but clean and we enjoyed the amenities. Staff weren’t too friendly and the breakfast was quite limited, but we enjoyed the room and found a great local restaurant to eat at that evening (Restaurant a Chave)."

"Hotel Quinta do Furão is one of the most beautiful hotels that I've ever stayed at. The highlights were the cliffside view with the Atlantic Ocean and mountains in the background, and waking up to the sunrise over the ocean in the morning from our room's balcony. Apart from the view, the hotel is well maintained and the breakfast each morning was very satisfying."

"We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madeira. It had everything our family needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip—from the well-equipped kitchenette and espresso machine to the thoughtful touch of a collapsible drying rack for swimsuits and towels. The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always eager to help. The hotel itself was spotless, and it was clear that cleanliness and guest comfort are top priorities. Breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection of fresh, delicious options. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking here again on our next visit!"
