Andrew communicated clearly the instructions for arriving to the house from the airport and we kept in touch as needed. "The house was spotless and a good location to get on highway. It was near the airport and could hear planes landing and taking off but did not hear planes after 11 p m. The owner lives in lower level and was very nice but did not speak much English and I do not speak Portuguese so checking in was a little complicated. I liked the location it was not as busy as Funchal and overlooked the mountains. The island is spectacular and would definitely recommend a stay on this island. "

"We had an amazing time at Funchal Barcelo. The staff was extremely nice and treated us so well. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne in our room one day - they had seen from our passport that we were celebrating a birthday. Complete shock and unexpected. Location was great! Close to the water, easy to walk the downtown streets and the rooftop pool was wonderful (although sometimes a bit crowded). We would recommend Madeira and especially this hotel to anyone who asks. I can't say enough great things about our experience! Looking forward to coming back, hopefully soon!"
