"I had to change the room as there was plenty of hair on the mattress cover. Overall cleanliness is questionable from dirty and smeared windows to dusty telephones. Spa is beyond average with rusty lockers and steam room that hardly produces any steam. The biggest perk of this hotel is the location, otherwise its seen better days."

"Our first room was really dirty, deep ingrained dirt and a general lack of everyday cleaning too. Luckily the kind manager moved us to a better room that was much cleaner. The staff are great, very friendly and the breakfast was reasonably good - but the building is very tired and and grubby with marked walls, peeling paint and dirty windows - which is such a shame because it is fabulously located and could be a real jewel in Cardiff's crown! The building is quite damp and this triggered one of our party's asthma so that is also something to consider when booking."

"Everything was excellent including the cafe/bar menus. Breakfast was extra special. Information was readily available in the tv screen opening screen. The room itself was spacious, bright and housekeeping should be acknowledged for their great work in replenishing towels and coffee/tea supplies! If there was one puzzling surprise in the midst of this it was the poor mattress quality… a rather crucial item. Or was it just this room? Otherwise a good find."

"An easy walk from Cardiff Central railway station. Friendly, helpful staff. Outer security door answered promptly. The room, whilst dated, was clean & functional. Hot water & a decent water pressure in the shower. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Breakfast is no longer available but there were plenty of options in the city centre. "

"Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable and clean room, good selection of food at breakfast. The staff went the extra mile to make a birthday weekend special - we really appreciated it and really enjoyed our stay."
