“I arranged for rwo rooms on Expedia as I could not access the hotel's direct site and calls were not answered. We were already staying in Madeira and our flights were cancelled due to high winds. When we arrived at 430pm we were informed that the rooms needed to be cleaned and we would be contacted. Our friends using room #1 were contacted the next hour of their room being ready. We approached the lobby desk three times to ask about our second room, we were told the first time that the room……

“Stayed here for a week during my recent solo travel to Madeira, and aside from the friendly staff, the clean facilities and the included daily buffet-style breakfast, the convenience of its location was what stood out for me the most: it's somehow both in a quiet neighbourhood and less than 10 minutes of walk away from the seaside and the marina, probably 5 minutes away from many local, non-touristy dining options and shops. For travellers who prefer or are used to extras like on-site massages……

“Hôtel propre et bien entretenu. Ménage fait tous les jours. La terrasse sur le toit est sympa, l’hôtel organise des soirées musique et avons eu une soirée Fado sur cette terrasse. Bon petit déjeuner avec du choix. Emplacement au top. Le seul point négatif est la piscine qui n’était pas inclus dans notre prestation et donc qui est payante et non chauffée 😖”

“Rooms were clean. Air conditioning shuts off during the day to conserve energy however takes a couple hours to cool the room when returning.”

“Positives - Our room was on the 6th floor which has an amazing view out to the Atlantic! - The bed was comfortable - The air con was good. - Shower was good. - Enjoyed our time at the lower level sea water pool and great to have sea access. - Nice bar staff at the lower level pool. Negatives - Really poor soundproofing in the room, we heard stomping around from upstairs at all different hours of the day, you can hear people using the bathroom taps/showers. You can hear next door TV. This……

“A good place to stay in Funchal away from the centre. The pool is very nice & the buffet breakfast has a lot of options. The beds are hard but this seems typical of Madeira. Our room was a bit untidy but again we had experienced this elsewhere too. The staff don’t really share a lot of information for example you can’t open your balcony door as it shuts off the air-conditioning or you need your key to actually exit the garage on checkout or you’re trapped in the garage.
