"I recently stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront South and had a mixed experience, especially considering the price of the room. On the downside, the room itself fell short of expectations. It did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned, and there was noticeable paint peeling in the bathroom. An access panel near the toilet was left open, which was unsettling at first glance. The shower dispensers were empty - no body wash or shampoo - which shouldn’t happen at this level. Another challenge was the noise. There was a band playing on the boardwalk until around 11:00 p.m. each night. While this wasn’t the hotel’s fault, the sound carried significantly into the room and made it difficult to relax in the evenings. The elevator system was also frustrating. Having to use the room key to access floors is understandable for security, but the digital key feature never worked properly for elevator access, which became an ongoing inconvenience. That said, there were definitely positives. The oceanfront location is excellent, with beautiful views right from the room. The attached restaurant, Mahi's Seafood and Sushi Salads, was outstanding and easily one of the highlights of the stay. The hotel staff were also consistently friendly, helpful, and made check-in very easy. Overall, while the location and staff were great, the condition of the room and a few operational issues made the stay feel underwhelming for the price paid."

"One of the kind bad hotel experience. They were overbooked and the offer is to go different hotel. And to make things better they offer $50 off and free parking and they said will get the money back from Expedia and per Expedia the try to reach out them many times but they denied "

"The house was clean, cute, and great location. However the kitchen was barebones for cooking and supplies. We made due but don’t expect to be able to cook and serve much. The house was very comfortable for 5 people. There is a rooster that lives in the house behind the rental so you definitely hear that. The decks were nice to sunbathe on. "

"The room was ok, but the bed linen had hair from previous guests. And so was the bathtub. So the two major things that we needed during our stay were unusable. After contacting the front desk they mentioned being short staffed and finally at 9:30 PM I got the half of the items requested and then I was supposed to make the beds. Which means taking out sheets and pillow cases used by others and change them! Thankfully I was carrying couple of car cushions and blanket in my car from winters. So I grabbed those and we somehow passed the night and were out as soon as there was daylight. Spending 1 Night was no less than a disaster! We didn’t use shower at all!! Spoke again with the front desk in the morning and made her aware of the situation and she said she would get back to me, but have not heard anything back in 24 hours. It is not like they didn’t have options, they could have offered a clean ready room, or fixed the problem. Cleaning someone else’s used stuff is not my problem! So we just paid $$$ to be under a roof over our head for a night. Thankfully had not booked it for more than a night! We checked into another hotel same time as we checked out from there. "
