"It was a nice get away for our wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our dogs and use the private strip of beach a couple of cottages away. This was a great quiet trip. The only thing that could have been better is the AC in the cottage. A window unit is provided but with 90 temps it couldn’t keep up."

"My sister and I have always wanted to visit Smith Island. This house was perfect! Well appointed, comfortable, great location and terrific host. The golf cart was such a huge bonus. We had amazing water tours, walked, relaxed, spotted more birds than we could count. Everyone on the island was beyond friendly. Just had a wonderful time which was amplified by the great accommodations! "

The Rappahannock carries special meaning for them...it's where they began their love story, and where they were engaged. Pop Castle is a warm, beautiful place for an event...only surpassed by the warmth and kindness of it's owners. The home is historic, well-maintained, and so comfortable! No detailsforgotten. Amazing kitchen! Bathrooms immaculate and the most comfy beds! This is truly a place for relaxation and sharing joy with friends & family! It has every amenity for a large gathering...beautiful views and grounds, places to spread out and come together! As Mother of the Bride, I was not as relaxed as I would have liked! But...all the more reason to return with the folks we treasure for another "Rivah" Respite! "This was our second year vacationing at this property. The Owner does a good job...very responsive. Plenty of pool toys, grills, cooking utensils for all grills, a crab pot. Crabbing is great. Many fun inside games (our week was very hot). Takes care of pool and trash daily. Always upgrading the property. Enabled our multi-generational family to reconnect. It's great. Highly recommend. "

"Had a really relaxing week..we fished from the dock (didn't catch much but was relaxing lol). The pool was great and spent most of our days there. We had a really bad storm one evening and lost power for 12 hours. We were lucky we had flashlights and a latern in the car..may i suggest you provide one."
