“Le personnel très sympathique, les repas super et mais la chambre était un peu petite, il y avait une mauvaise odeur dans la salle de bain et nous avons eu un problème avec la télévision.”

“Be aware that although the hotel is walking distance to the bus terminal, it is on a hill, so you need to be reasonably fit if walking up and down. The hotel is close to the harbour and castle. The island bus service is very good for getting around the island and sight seeing. Staff are very helpful and friendly.”

“A one night stay prior to flight - excellent airport location. Sizeable heated o/d pool with adult only sessions. Good sized room with large bathroom including large walk in shower. An early start necessitated a continental room breakfast - a sizeable feast, better than many in house breakfasts!”

“Normally the best price for a room is by phoning and booking direct with the hotel, not in this case, it was considerably cheaper to book online? Most staff seem happy and helpful except the chap we got the pool towels from, maybe because it was a hot sunny day and he was stuck inside a gloomy room at his desk Outdoor pool Ok but indoor needs refurbishing looks like black mould all around the grouting on the spa pools not nice to see Food in restaurant and at breakfast very good, but again the……

“The staff were friendly and helpful, eager to assist with a few small requests I had. I found it be peaceful, I was at the rear of the property, and particularly liked the second door into the room, which I'm shielded me from any hallway activity. Pool was lovely, and breakfast excellent. Friday, live music :-)”

While I would fully recommend the property, it was disappointing to turn up and find no availability at the spa despite staying three nights/four days. Also, the hotel added on a service charge of £10/day on checkout despite having already paid a 12.5% service charge in the restaurants & bars (which made up 100% of our bill given we had pre-paid). The option is there to take the service charge off but in my view, it is……

“Couldn't fault the hotel or staff. Whatever you asked for, it was no trouble at all. Our room was fine with a balcony that overlooked the harbour. Plenty to eat at breakfast. You can start with continental and then have a cooked meal if you want. The only drawback for us was the number of steps and sloping paths/ roads you need to negotiate to reach the hotel. That said, we would recommend this hotel.”

“Staff very welcoming and helpful - responded swiftly and accurately to everything asked, but the property is tired and requires extensive maintenance. Pool been shut for 2 years and Heath Spa now shut as well. Breakfast was really quite good. Location suited us as was a short walk to event we were attending nearby.”
