The villa is located in a very quiet area, the stay was in perfect peace (the occasional and distant dog barking is not disturbing at all and the neighbors' dogs are completely calm). "Property was in a great location, clean, welcoming, and a bargain. Slightly difficult to find the first time then was easy sailing. Communication from host was top notch. Only difficulty i experienced was adjusting to the height of ceilings. I struck my head routinely on the sloped ceilings, between rooms, and especially bathroom. I am approximately 71.5 inches/182cm for reference. My daughter at 63 inches/160cm was fine. All in all we enjoyed our stay!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Albatroz! This holiday experience was all that we were looking for - excellent food with exceptional service, a warm welcoming atmosphere from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping staff, and unparalleled attentiveness from all staff. This hotel has ‘old-world’ charm and is set in a location with amazing views, ocean pools, and beautiful gardens. This is a hidden gem - your stress level will decrease from the first moment you step onto the hotel grounds. As a bonus, it was close to the airport so we could enjoy the views of incoming and outgoing flights with little noise. We started planning our return trip while we were there and look forward to returning to the Albatroz soon!"

"Room was dated but clean. Indoor pool was useful. Can't swim at the beach because there no beach, very rocky and waves were pretty rough, but nice to have waterfront view. Very accessible to funchal by bus. Bus stop was just a block away. Font desk were not too helpful interms of going out of their way looking for excursions outside of their tour partners. Beach towels were controlled, first sets are free, if need clean ones there are extra fees and must return the towels to front desk to avoid fees. Cannot leave it in the room. Breakfast was good. All in all, we enjoyed our stay."
