Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Marunouchi

8/10 Good

"Room is clean . Hotel is easy access to Tokyo station"

Tokyo Dome Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"This was the ideal place for a solo traveler to stay in Tokyo. I speak very little Japanese and had no problem communicating with the staff. On the last day of my trip, a zipper on my luggage broke, and the concierge gave me the tools to fix it. It saved me so much time and stress! I planned to use more of the hotel amenities, but I mostly used the washing machines, the personal bathroom, and two of the on-site restaurants. The Tokyo Dome Hotel is very close to multiple train stations and has all you could need within walking distance. I highly recommend this location whether you are traveling alone or with a big group!"

APA Hotel Keisei Ueno Ekimae Minami

8/10 Good

"The hotel feels very new and somewhat self-serve. There are people in the front lobby, but they are there mostly to help you navigate the self check-in kiosks. There was a large queue of older European travelers checking in before me and they seemed to struggle with the self check-in process, and so it made for not the best first impression of the place. Once checked in, I found my room to be really small, but not atypical for Japan. Everything in the room was clean and comfortable and well laid-out to maximize use of the space. But the star of the hotel was the sento on the 14th floor. Not sure about the women's bath, but the men's was very nicely designed and there was an outdoor bath that allowed you to soak while enjoying the night air look out over Ueno park. There's nothing quite like a good soak to relax and revive after a long day of walking around this amazing city."

Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei

10/10 Excellent

"I enjoyed my stay here very much, clean rooms and facilities, great location for seeing some Asakusa sights at night, which beat the daytime in ambience! I also love that I was able to step out into seeing Asakusa before the crowds arrived, which felt very calming and felt more authentic to me. Most importantly, the staff are very wonderful and welcoming, as well as helpful! I checked-in late due to delays and they were very understanding, as well, I received help from staff for bringing luggage upstairs check-in and before check-out as well. They were very polite and courteous and I enjoyed chatting with them, especially at check-in. It was a complete contrast from my previous stay in Akasaka, and I’m so grateful that this was my last stay before flying home :) One thing is that I had stayed in the same chain’s Kanazawa hotel recently and couldn’t help comparing them a bit, including the smaller rest areas after the onsen, but they also have massage chairs which the Kanazawa one doesn’t have. I would definitely recommend and stay here again in the future!"
