"Location is pretty good, close enough to either go on trips, explore Valletta and near restaurants, bars or those wanting more excitement Paceville a short walk. Be prepared for building work, it’s not horrendous, just a fair bit happening in St Julian’s and very nearby. Staff stand out at the hotel in every aspect, very friendly and service with a smile everywhere, including booking taxis. Hotel is 5 star which at night looks lovely, maybe like some reviews said a little dated in the daytime. Rooms are well serviced if a little dated again and Spa is great. Think over the 4 full days we stayed in an executive room, we visited the executive lounge for snacks early afternoon and drinks/nibbles every day; there was an Indian lady, I think Pria? Her smiling face, general conversation made it so lovely to go there. There’s more choice for breakfast in Fra Martino and we managed a table outside every morning. If you like sun bathing by pools, with bars at each it’s perfect, we preferred the Lido and still received an occasional drinks service, There is a small sandy beach though in the bay if you walk a few hundred metres, just expect it to be busy peak season. Debated whether to give it 4 or 5 stars not due to it needing refurbishing a bit, more down to the advertised sea view. My main negative it was a side sea view at best sat on the balcony of 517. The photo showing the sea view is standing up and turning 45 degrees, sat down it’s a nice view of car parks and housing hmmm"

"All the staff on reception were really helpful and attentive to requests. The room was spotless everyday with towel decorations. The breakfast was excellent. One suggestion would be to move the tea and coffee making and juices to the lounge to make more room in the serving area as the breakfast area is quite small. "Positives, excellent friendly staff., super helpful. Great breakfast. Margaux restaurant excellent. Super comfy bed . Decent central location Some issues, which tried to be fixed, positive, we got a room upgrade- downside things were not working in the room , got woken 730 by some sort of building work, dribbly cold shower, two power cuts, air conn not working, room felt tired. In fairness to staff they sorted the issues quickly and offered a free drink which was much appreciated . But tbh the shower was still not functioning properly, but at least it was now hot! And we had air conn. We were told the beach club was open pm and no booking required, when we turned up it was all locked and closed at 8pm, apparently closed two days early due to weather !. … which during the week had been sunny and 26-28 degrees. So internal comms to front desk at. Went to an adjacent restaurant which was rammed and buzzing, so not sure why 1926 chose to close the beach side one, tbh it was a reason for booking this hotel, so somewhat frustrating. But overall this is a good hotel, with super friendly staff who are very customer focused."

"Luxury hotel with lovely, helpful staff, access to the fabulous Beach Club, an incredible breakfast and an amazing Spa with indoor pool, sauna and treatment rooms. We upgraded to one of the top floor rooms with a balcony and the view over the harbour and Valletta was to die for! Just fabulous. If I could find one fault - it would be with the balcony furniture! Plasticky and no cushions provided either for the chairs or the sun loungers. (Very minor complaint!)"

"We arrived late at the hotel and, as expected, the frond door was locked. This was very promptly delt with by the on call night staff and we found everything ready for us. Our room was clean, the hot water hot, and all the room facilities in good repair and very comfortable. Following an excellant continental breakfast we found the center of Valetta only 2 mins walk away so 10/10 for location. But ALL the staff were the stars, never too much bother, a genuine can I do anything else to help and always with a big smile. We have already recommended this to our family and friends."
