“It was living history while we explored history. So homey in a historical place with wonderful amenities.”

“We have stayed here before and always loved it but this visit was less than pleasant. We called to confirm accessible amenities for our daughter and had to speak to 3 different front desk staff to get any answers. The lobby was dirty with ice cream spilled on the floor. and the front desk staff sat on their phones. Our room was not completely cleaned. When we went to use the lift for the pool it hadn’t been charged so wasn’t operational. It was not a great stay and the staff seemed to not care……

“I never leave negative reviews and overall we loved the hotel. Beware, however, the hotel charged me a balance remaining between them and Expedia stating I needed to seek a refund from Expedia for them underpaying my stay. I paid the same price on Expedia as the advertised hotel rate. I was also charged for parking on property and did not. I’ve left messages since my stay for the GM and have not heard back him.”

“Was disappointed when we found a roach in the pool area shortly after arrival. Thankfully it was dead but definitely made me feel uneasy about the rest of our stay. However, the staff was kind and location was ideal plenty of food and gas near by.”

“I was visiting for my high school reunion. I arrived early so I had to wait for two hours before I could check in. It was ok because I drove through the Civil War battlefield and it was awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. I went to my evening event and returned but was locked out. There was no explanation but my key was re-coded and I continued my stay. I was pleased with the breakfast and everyone was pleasant. The last morning I went to have breakfast before I checked out but……

“Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were friendly but seemed limited and unsure when an issue arose with a charge to my room. Apparently staff that checked me in did not do something correctly, resulting in charges to my room. The manager did get it resolved when I checked out.”

“The property is excellent; the facilities are excellent BUT some of the staff need training in hospitality especially for an exceptional property in a historic area. I have been twice in the last 3 weeks due to work, and it was the same both times. Both times, I had multiple experiences at the front desk where staff didn't even look up from what they were doing and said, "Can I help you?" with exasperated facial expressions that appeared as if I was an annoyance or chore.
