"The staff were very kind. The location and view were both great. Overall great stay, however the rooms have thin walls and we were awoken by yelling at 6 a.m."

"The lobby of the hotel is very nice with a decent restaurant and bar. The location is excellent as it's right in the heart of downtown Monterey and a short walk to Cannery Row. My biggest complaint is that the beds and the pillows are not very good."

"The property is quite old. The kitchen sink faucet can really use a replacement. The clothes dryer doesn’t work well at all. Dining room seats are a little stained and don’t feel very clean. I honestly don’t think that the cleaning lady changed the sheets on the beds before our arrival…just didn’t smell very clean. The condo definitely has potential to be a very nice VRBO, but needs some love. Views were wonderful and proximity to the wharf are very good."

"The location to the beach was fantastic. Parking was a little difficult depending on the time of day, but not terrible. The house itself definitely could have been cleaner and is in need of updates, but Pacific Grove and Monterey Bay kept us outside for most of our time, so I recommend Monterey as a whole. If location is of importance, you couldn't ask for a better spot."
