“Lovely stay. The host was very helpful. The house was beautiful with a lovely garden. So close to the High Street with shops, restaurants and the museum and steam railway. Thank you for making us so welcome.”

“The hotel is classed as a 4* hotel. I think this is perhaps because of the amenities and perhaps the size. The hotel rooms are very tired and not up to 4* standard, well the one I had was and lacked things I would have expected in a 4* hotel. There was a small cupboard as a wardrobe with about 3 hangers. One chair. No drawer unit. The bed was very comfortable and the white linen was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I did not see all of the hotel only my room. I would not……

“A great location with a secure carpark. A comfortable room with good facilities. Found all the staff excellent, friendly and informative. I would definitely stay here again.”

“Overall we were happy with our stay. The outside if the hotel and grounds are pretty, the food in the evening and morning was to a very high standard. We stayed in a very good sized suite, which pleasantly surprisingly had 2 bathrooms with matching showers, toilet and bath. On the whole, the staff were polite and accommodating to our requests. The reason for 4 stars, there were elements of the room and dining room which could do with some tlc. Paint chipping off skirting boards, damage to one of……

“The staff were all wonderful and helpful . It was 36c+ . The building is an old historic property with newly refurbished bedrooms . A fan was in the room to help with the heat . Small but comfortable with a lovely bathroom. My room faced the front and with the heat I needed my window open . The property is by the traffic lights so if you are traffic averse , ask for a rear room . Breakfast is continental but you can pay extra for a cooked breakfast, but not on Sundays . Room for 3 cars to park……
