“We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay at Orion City Hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable and WiFi worked well. Hot water was plentiful. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our meal in the hotel restaurant. The location was great for us- we were able to walk to the R Premadasa stadium.”

“The hotel is about 10mins walk from the train station and 10 mins walk to the main area which is acceptable.
The decoration of the hotel is fabulous. Many paintings on the corridor which made me stop my steps and spent some time on it. The room is clean and comfortable with air-con and hot water for bathing. It was nice to have some free tea bags to taste and have a relax time in your room.
Breakfast at a very beautiful resturant with a good view to the pier. Food is quite good and full of……

“The hotel is well-located, the rooms enormous with very old furniture! A little rundown in places but that’s why the price is low, and I hope no-one “improves” it any time soon!
Do not use the tuk-tuk drivers outside the hotel, or believe anyone who tells you “today is a special day”These people are nothing to do with the hotel. Solo women travellers especially beware ”

“The staff need to be re-trained. House keeping was inconsistent - four towels, then two. Six waters, then none. Laundry had to be chased. The staff at the breakfast restaurant were appalling. Cutting in front all the time when walking, standing in groups talking whilst we were trying to open doors. Being told to move tables! Unhelpful at best. This is not a five star experience. Not even close.”
