“First impression of the home was disappointing, the property is not maintain, the grounds/lawn is over grown with weeds and trash, no garden, the garbage can was full of trash and the house is old. “My daughter and I stayed at the Hollander, after staying at the Avalon next door several times. We had an issue with our room the first night. The deadbolt wouldn’t lock. We were allowed to change rooms for the night and given a coupon for free breakfast. The deadbolt was fixed the next day. I felt that they really went above and beyond. Other than the deadbolt issue, both rooms were clean and well maintained. They also had the fun decor that you don’t see in the big chains. Food and beverages……

“Super cute place. Great for Adults. Right across from beach and they provide good beach chairs, umbrella beach towels and even a cooler. They bring bag of ice for you for your refrigerator and have bikes. No pool- but you have the ocean and walking distance to many great places to eat.”

“This hotel was a pleasant surprise! Every single employee we talked with was super nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean, and we were provided the basics (shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer) but also a little corner of munchies and beverages, super cool! “Greyson at the front desk was great, besides the smell of stale cigarettes in the lobby, the rest of the hotel was clean. The absolute worst part is the valet parking, it takes 30 minutes to get your car and when you come back to the hotel to park its a 50/50 chance you will find a spot to park for the valet. “Unfortunately we were awaken at 7 a.m. by a barking dog in the next room. When we told the front staff they said they contacted the dog's owner and they were coming back to the hotel.... This was at 9:30 a.m. The poor dog was left alone. The staff said their policy is that dogs not be left in the alone. So 2 1/2 hours of listening to the dog bark loudly. Not a great experience.”
