The hotel is magnificent with a lot of history. It is clean and has a variety of food to choose from. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is also a tourist attraction and sometimes the hall is packed with tourists.

We loved being in this historic hotel. We walked to the ShihLin night market which was fun. The breakfast buffet was immense and a wonderful culinary adventure. The tour of the hotel and secret passage was very interesting. I would recommend staying at the Grand Hotel

The hotel is a little dated but still well maintained, it is located on a little hill and have a nice view of the city. They have shuttle bus running to two subway stations, Yuanshan and Jiantan. And walking to Shilin night market takes only 20 minutes. As for the restaurants, prices are 5 stars but the food and the services are not.

Truly amazing place - absolutely huge and lavishly decorated. We got a corner suite which was absolutely worth it with amazing views across Taipei. The sauna at the Yang Shuan club is worth paying for, and the pool was lovely. Area slightly out of town but taxi/Uber very inexpensive, and Shilin night market and bus stops for Yangmingshan within ~15mins walk.

The Grand Hotel, which is full of historical sense, has experienced many major historical events. It has also received 111 heavyweight heads of state guests, including former US President Dwight Eisenhower, Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, South Korean President Park Chung-hee, Japanese Prime Minister Eisaku Sato, and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew! Stepping into the hotel, we can not only deeply feel the gorgeous beauty of the architecture, but also deeply experience the pulse and legend of Taiwan's history！ The tour guide of the hotel is also very wonderful, the volunteer shared a lot of interesting and thought-provoking stories to us, very vivid! The food in various restaurants is also very good, . There is a Story of Stamps store, which is also reminiscent of the past and historical figures, I bought several sets of stamps. The accommodation is comfortable and the staff are very friendly. I will bring my family to come in the future. The front office needs to be tidy。I saw the restaurant check out desk was a mess. I was dining in one night, and they would took dishes or objects in front of me, but without asking me first, which is rude. The guys at front door area were nice but their uniform were loose and unfit, no spiritual expression. Plus , they were a little old, although this is not an important issue. The hotel check in and check out service were excellent. People were polite, efficient, and very accurate! I rate them the best! we stayed for 4 days, front desk staff very indifferent , same as the breakfast buffet, staff need to be asked may times to take away used plates, dinner buffet so over priced with poor variety of choice. food not fresh at all! and do not use the hotel phone to call anywhere even within the city , they charge you like the telecom system in 1980's !

The property is nice however the staff aren't very friendly. No toiletries in the bathroom for a 5 star hotel. We were there during the earthquake and there was no announcements or anything from the hotel. It's also far from the city center but they provide shuttle service to the closest subway.

The lobby and the hallway of the hotel looks great with the classic traditional decoration. Its clean and quiet away from the bustling noise of the cars. The staffs also speaks English well so its very easy to communicate with them to ask for recokmendations and directions. The hotel also offers shuttle service going to the MRT.

The facility is old, the shower door is not able to close completely, so the water came out after the shower. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean. The stuff is friendly.

The tours of Eastern and Western secret tunnels are nice! Especially,the Eastern tunnel with the tour bus!

The staff at front desk (a young man of 20s on March 19) has horrible attitude. The hotel refused to give me a standard hotel itemized checkout receipt. It is getting worse. Very crowded and noisy. Not a place to stay for business travels. I used to stay here for the past 10 years, not any more given what happened this time.

Wonderful historic hotel, beautifully maintained in an ideal location. Truly an icon. Treat yourself to one of the nicer rooms, definately worth spending a little more! I make it a point to stay there for at least one night when ever I am in Taipei.
