If there were an Olympic event for host communication, Maki would have taken home gold! From the moment we booked, the detailed instructions guided us seamlessly from Narita to the front door, and the additional information on local places of interest were terrific! The directions for the washing machine alone deserve a standing ovation! The apartment was super clean and the balcony was a welcome retreat for some solitude after being amongst the millions of locals and billions of tourists. The location? Perfection! We haven’t stayed anywhere else in Tokyo, but being right on the Yamanote Line made us feel like we had front-row seats to the entire city. The short stroll to and from the station meant we could explore in the morning, pop “home” for a rest, then head out again for a night of ramen and neon lights. The bathroom was incredible; nothing beats a cool rinse after clocking up 20,000 steps sightseeing. And the washing facilities? A total game changer. We packed light and shopped heavy. Now for the one tiny “ouch” — the bedding. Let’s just say it’s seen more Tokyo adventures than we have, and my back was not a fan. With a mattress refresh, this place would be a straight-up 5/5.All in all, Maki’s apartment is a brilliant home base for exploring Tokyo.
