“Clean room, friendly staff, near to town. Was perfect for an overnight stay! ”

“Lovely building and really helpful owners / staff . Was really clean and tidy and the breakfast was very good . Only a couple of minor things really , the shower head kept dipping down so was a bit of pain when you were shampooing etc . Bit noisy at night time but obviously the very nice owners can’t help that .”

“Property was within walking distance to the beach and shops. Owners Julie-Anne and Charlie were absolutely charming and recommended places to visit and how to get there. Breakfasts were very tasty and the air conditioning worked a treat.”

“Had a lovely night away. Room was clean and nice to have a fridge with fresh milk for coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. “Lovely new hotel. Bedroom with beautiful sea view and complimentary nice touches. A small table and chair by window would have been good and curtains let a lot of daylight in early morning but otherwise room was spot on. Disappointed that roof top bar wasn't open for majority of my stay and when it was open, it wasn't serving the food advertised on menu. Service in restaurant a bit slow and confusing around whether bar or table service and whether food available outside or not. Need more staff……

“We were met by our first names and instantly offered a cup of tea and cake! This personal,friendly theme ran throughout our short stay and made it a really lovely experience. The rooms were large and beautifully furnished with everything you could want and shiny clean. Breakfast was well organised with a time slot so we could again benefit from the personal touch from our super hosts. Excellent, freshly cooked large portions😀. Would happily stay here again and recommend to friends and family.”

“We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place.”

“This is the second stay at The Grand. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We were bed and breakfast , the bed was very comfortable, the room was a decent size and the breakfast was very good. Although the room was clean the main window needs attention as putty is missing which makes it drafty and also it needs painting. The flat roof outside is an eyesore. We found the wifi poor and the size of the tv too small for the size of the room. A big positive for us is the location of the……

“Its high end with great decor and fab spa facilities. Our stay was somewhat spoiled by drunken guests and their friends in the next room making excessive noise and shouting between 12.30-2.30 am, keeping us awake, security was called twice to try and resolve and did offer us a rom change in the middle of the night which was not practical. On speaking to Harry the manager it appears this was not the only case that evening. The hotel should consider introducing a quiet policy after 12 with……
