A lovely base to explore north of Sicily. Plenty of space for a group with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Hosts were very friendly and responsive. All amenities as listed. Cool temperatures in the lovely gardens. Narrow roads for driving so small car recommended. Thank you!!

Viagrande

Property has lots of character and offers a typical Sicilian experience far away from tourist areas. Many good restaurants nearby, some in walking distance. A car is essential to visit the wider area. Garden areas perfect for relaxing.

We could had not have been more happy staying at Giulia’s. Rosella and her husband greeted us kindly and gave us a wonderful welcome. We even were able to check in a little earlier than expected. The interior is very tasteful, the kitchen fully equipped to cook delicious meals to dine in the garden outside. We loved it all and had a great time exploring the area. We felt the corner lot situation with front and rear gardens, are ideal. We are very grateful for this very good experience and can highly recommend the house.

This is a charming old house with pleasant gardens in front and back. It feels like a real home, which we enjoyed. Out hosts welcomed us personally; they were very communicative and helpful. We visited in late April/early May with the temperature dropping to 12 degrees Celsius at night, and it was a bit chilly in the house in the evening/night. The neighborhood is very residential with a bakery and shops about ten minutes away on foot.

The real feel of Sicily, beautiful garden

This house is well decorated in old Sicilian style, with a beautiful garden. You could say quite romantic. The area, with the typical small Etna villages, vineyards and lemon yards, is very special. From one side of the house you have a very nice view over the see to Calabria. The kitchen is well equipped for the people that love to make their own dishes of all the great fresh ingredients you can buy at he local shops.

Honestly, don't know where to start. This home (and home owners) are the best stay and welcome you can imagine. We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful gardens and characteristic house - we felt at home immediately. The owners did an amazing job of creating a house with identity while making it a comfortabel place to stay. Tip for the neighbourhood - it's good to rent a car in Sicily it gets you to many more beautiful places. For groceries you can walk easily. Let's just say, we will be back soon!

Exceptionally beautiful house with beautiful, original furnishings. There is still an old wood-burning stove in the kitchen, which blends charmingly into the room. We did not use the back garden as it was too shady for April temperatures. It is certainly an oasis in summer. Our children liked the Hollywood swing. Also positive: the location, the quiet neighbourhood, the view from the balcony over the village. The hosts are very cordial and it was no problem to check out very early and we could use the fireplace in the living room.

This rental, is a true AirBnB in the original sense: it is a lived-in home that has been owned by the tenant’s family for several generations and is fully equipped with all thinkable amenities, ranging from a washing machine, an iron, a dish washer, a gas oven… This super clean and spacious place is one of the most beautiful and tastefully furnished homes imaginable and transports you back into the early 19th century. The flair is as if you were staying with Virginia Woolf at the Bloomsberry Group’s house. The three bedrooms (of which one is attached to another small bathroom) are located upstairs and can each be accessed individually, which was great for us three friends traveling together. Additionally, this house has its own parking lot and an incredibly beautiful garden which we were asked to water at night. The owners were very kind and showed us around upon arrival and said goodbye to us in person. We rented the place for two weeks and managed without a car for one, renting a vehicle for the second part of our vacation (there is a rental place in walking distance in Viagrande – the closest village). Getting to the house is a little tricky by public transport, which is why we took a cab to and from the airport. The location is a little bit off the main track, tucked in a residential area, however, with a car you can easily visit the Etna, near-by wineries, the beach, as well as embark on some day trips to Catania and other places. For us, this house was a beautiful base for a vacation we will forever remember!

Ons verblijf was fantastisch! Wij werden heel vriendelijk ontvangen en de eigenaren waren flexibel met de aankomst- en vertrektijd wat heel fijn was. Het is een enorm sfeervol huis met prachtige tuinen met veel beplanting. Wij hebben vooral in de voortuin gezeten (staat niet op de foto’s) waar je heerlijk kunt ontbijten in de zon. Ook had de voortuin een schommelbank. Op de bovenverdieping is er prachtig uitzicht en een omheind balkon waar je overheen kunt lopen (staat niet op de foto’s). Dit was voor ons een leuke verrassing! De slaapkamers hebben fijne bedden en goede donkere luiken voor snachts. Het omgelegen dorp is rustig en stijl en had een lekkere bakker (je moet hiervoor wel goed te been zijn). Het is noodzakelijk om een auto te hebben als je de omgeving wilt verkennen. Straten rondom het huis zijn smal en stijl maar was zelfs met een grote auto voor ons opzich wel prima te doen. De eigen parkeerplaats was handig. Al met al zeker aan te raden!

Ons bezoek aan het huis van Giulia in Viagrande was erg fijn. Het is een prachtig huis met een geweldige voor en achtertuin waar je heerlijk tot rust komt en kunt ontsnappen aan de drukte van de stad. De keuken is klein maar zeer gezellig en was van alle gemakken voorzien. De slaapkamers waren ruim en sfeervol ingericht en de bedden sliepen lekker. De bakker en de supermarkt zijn op loopafstand, maar je moet wel stijl dalen en klimmen. Wanneer je een langer verblijf hebt raden wij een auto aan, de host heeft ons hier ook op gewezen. Contact verliep altijd snel, soepel en vriendelijk. Ze zijn zeer behulpzaam. In de zomermaanden zijn er ventilatoren beschikbaar. Het huis beschikt niet over een airco. Het is in de zomer erg warm. We hebben een super verblijf gehad in deze mooie villa en raden hem iedereen aan!

Vi hade en härlig vecka i huset. Trädgården är helt fantastisk och vi njöt av att sitta ute på kvällarna och äta middag. Vi fick ett varmt välkomnande av ägarna och det var lätt att komma i kontakt med Rossella när vi hade frågor. Sovrummen hade bekväma sängar och ett bra kök där vi lagade våra middagar. Även bra med två badrum. Det var mycket bra med parkering precis utanför huset. Närhet till bra butik där vi kunde handla allt vi behövde för veckan. Vi gjorde olika utflykter med bil till städer och även till Etna. Vi hade en mycket bra vecka i Viagrande och kan varmt rekommendera att hyra detta hus.

Superbe maison ancienne sur les pentes de l’Etna doté d’un jardin secret magnifique. Hôtes extrêmement sympathiques, réactifs et disponibles qui participent au plaisir du séjour. Très propre, literie confortable, adaptée pour une famille même avec bébé. Attention la voiture reste indispensable pour se déplacer dans la région. Heureusement, la maison a un emplacement de parking rare dans le coin. On recommande !!!!

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus um die Umgebung Catanias zu erkunden

Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und insbesondere Rossella ist eine unglaublich liebenswerte und hilfsbereite Person! Sie hat uns bei einem persönlichem Problem geholfen und ist mit uns mehrere Stunden durch die Gegend gefahren. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort Urlaub machen.

L’ameublement est magnifique, très soigné, confortable et bien entretenu. La région est parfaite pour un séjour sicilien idéal : visites de l’Etna, plages proches, villages aux alentours où l’on trouve des commerces de très grande qualité pour cuisiner. Le café Urna est devenu notre deuxième maison! Les hôtes sont serviables et charmants, bref, un séjour de rêve!

La maison est spacieuse et possède un charmant jardin ombragé qui offre une appréciable oasis de fraîcheur en fin de journée. Les chambres sont très confortables et meublées avec goût. This house is amazing!! Incredibly charming and beautiful and Giulia was the perfect host: quick to respond, attentive and kind. We very much enjoyed our stay and will for sure be back again. The house is located in a beautiful little town without loads of tourists which we enjoyed. You do need a car to go explore the area but the house has parking out in front so that was no problem!

An amazing experience!

Your hosts couldn’t be more helpful, nice and kind, they are warm and helps you to feel welcome immediately. I will recommend this home to everyone who want to have a quiet base in between every attraction of the Catania region, from where you can relax in your own therapeutic garden and live the settings of Sicilian history. Stayed here for 14 days and couldn’t be happier, close to the center with resturants, supermarkets and other practicalities. Within a short ride from the home, you can be at the beach or the top of Etna, cities of Nicolosi, Zafferna Etnea or Acireale. The home is so beautiful and gives you the true sensation of being in the heart of Sicily, with all the little details around inside the house and outside in the garden, will make you relax and feel at home immediately. It quickly turns it into you own getaway, where you can enjoy the home or garden settings or read in the hanging sofa, when you don’t want to go out. All the rooms were spacious and super clean and tidy, big and light, with a view to the beautiful front garden. Extremely well impressed experience and to the hosts, thank you for your hospitality!
