Great location

So glad this little gem was centrally located and within walking distance to the shambles, York minster, the train station etc. we had car issues coming into York so this made it so we could still do stuff in town despite being without a car and not rely on public transportation. Only downside is the 3 narrow stairs and having two 75 year olds in our group!

Mini break with young grandchildren

We had a lovely stay at 11 Gillygate . The flat was very central and perfectly equipped for our visit- we could not fault it . We ate at Mamma Mia both nights, a little Italian just opposite the flat . The staff were very welcoming and food was excellent. All in all a very successful trip

This property was wonderful. The owners were so easy to get in touch with and helpful. York was delightful and we could walk easily from the train station to the apartment, to everywhere we wanted to go! Great shopping, food, attractions all around. Found a great beer garden just around the corner. It was exceptional to be able to do laundry there because it was hot everywhere we went in the UK and it was so good to have fresh clothes. Large bottles of nice shower items, very very clean and comfortable. The only little snag for us was that it was a bit noisy on Gillygate street which we are not used to. Totally loved it anyway. Thanks Anna and Nathan!

The property is lovely - very clean, modern and well equipped. In a great location too - in a short walk of the Minster, walls, Museum Gardens and the Ouse. There were a couple of very very minor things that would have helped. The anti bac spray under the sink was empty on arrival - it would have been handy to have been able to clean kitchen surfaces. The duvet/bedding for the sofa bed was out in the living room - we didn't need it, so it was largely just in the way and there was nowhere to put it. The listing suggested there was a good stock of toys/games for children - there were 2 books and a couple of board games - so don't rely on it to entertain your children! Overall though, we'd really recommend the apartment and would visit again.

Excellent accommodation in a perfect location

The apartment is ideal for three of four people - very sensitively and thoughtfully planned with good quality furniture, fixtures and fittings. Kitchen with dining area is perfect for a meal in, and the living room, with additional occasional guest bed, is well furnished and bright. Beds are amazingly comfortable - very decent pillows! Triple glazed windows block out the noise of a busy road but allow for good visibility. Bathrooms are excellent. Just a couple of things: the second bedroom, with a standard double bed up against the wall, is tight on space for two people and luggage for anything more than a night and the stairs to the apartment are narrow and steep - not a problem for slim, fit people, but difficult for those who are not I can imagine! The contract that is sent in advance is a little daunting - I felt rather like a suspect than a guest - four pages long!! - but sadly, I do appreciate the need to be careful and clear. In summary, the apartment is absolutely ideal for a brief stay, in a brilliant location. I will certainly book again - like a shot!

2 night York stay

It was a great place to stay in,loved the decor. Ideal position for a short walk to the Minster , the Shambles and e try to Walls. At ages 72, 74 and 76 we did huff and puff a bit. Lucky one of us has a blue badge so the public carpark was free of charge.£40 saved . A much enjoyed short break
