"This was a great location. Having the little kitchen and a hot tub on the deck was amazing. Taking a little stroll at night was picture perfect. It is remote though, so make sure you have a rental car and any snacks and drinks you need before you settle in for the night. I’ll stay here again, it was lovely. "

"The Hekla Cabins are three, wonderful little cabins just off one of the main roads through the area. The cabin comfortably fit two, but there's a pullout couch (at least in Cabin One) for an additional sleeper. The kitchen has a small fridge and a stovetop, and the bathroom has a shower with plenty of hot water (WiFi was also available). "A bunch of my med school friends and I stayed here for our trip to Iceland and we were so pleased with the experience. It was the perfect basecamp for us as we travel mostly during the day and came back to the best amenities and such a great open space for all of us to relax. "The stay was great for a quick stop. We wished the lights on the back porch turned off. It didn’t make for great northern lights viewing. All of the cabins had lights on the porch. They must be controlled by the light outside."

"The house was amazing, the check-in experience was awful. The house is loosely connected to the hotel which manages the check in, but the house is actually family run. The front desk agent was friendly, but had us sit for almost an hour without an update. The restaurant refused to book us stating we weren't part of the hotel, despite the fact that the front desk disagreed. The house made up for it."
