"The hotel is a jaw dropping early twentieth century architectural marvel. Walking up the stairs and seeing the stained glass ceiling at the top felt like living history. Not only that, but the staff was personable and very helpful and attentive, the room was clean, airy, quiet, and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was fantastic. If I could give extra stars I would."

"Loved this location, we had the bunk room which was awesome with kids. The breakfast was proper and the coffee was good. You have to request cleaning (which the staff were responsive too but never actually happened) and house keeping missed garbage stuffed down between the bunk beds which was my 4/5. We will be back loved it otherwise"

"The hotel was in a fairly central location, although it was a bit of a walk to most of the main attractions. The upside was that it was in a quieter area, making it a peaceful place to stay away from the crowds. The room was spacious by Amsterdam standards and had a modern, well-designed interior. Overall, it was comfortable and offered good value if you don’t mind walking a little to explore the city."

"Just stayed for 5 nights (which was originally meant to be 3) at the Hotel Jakarta. And honestly, how refreshing it is to find a hotel that actually exceeds our expectations. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was tasty and fresh, the hotel itself is very modern and hip, and the staff were also very helpful & friendly. But on that, my partner and I would like to put a shout out in particular for a lovely young lady called Juliette at reception. We had a situation where we had to cancel our riverboat cruise at the very last minute, due to diminishing water levels, and had to pivot to create a new 14 day plan leading to our follow on itinerary in Budapest. We were quite frazzled coming off a 13 hour flight from Singapore, and very tired when we turned up at the hotel. Juliette went out of her way to make us comfortable, assisted us with being able to make the necessary phone calls to our riverboat company back home. Organised an early check-in and even left a nice surprise in our room for our anniversary. If they say a hotel is only as good as it’s staff, then I hope management is looking after Juliette. Because she is an absolute asset to your hotel, & really made us feel like people rather than numbers, when it counted. And a quick tip if you’re staying here, to save you walking unnecessarily to & from the Tram stop, to get to & from Amsterdam train/bus station. Take 43 bus which picks up & drops off right near the hotel’s side entrance."
